Mission
The mission of JPIC is to assist Professed Secular Franciscans as they reflect
on their relationship with God as manifested in the fruits of conversion in their
lives. This with special regard to the daily choices made in the areas of justice,
peacemaking and respect for all created things and people; as brothers and sisters
of penance, bringing life to the Gospel and the Gospel to life.
From the Letter of the Minister General, Secular Franciscan Order
...the Ministers General of the Franciscan Order passed down…the new rule which was
approved June 24, 1978 by the late Pontiff, Paul VI. I consider it a supreme gift from
the Pope who was a true Franciscan in his heart and in his works…October 4, 1978,
Manuela Mattioli, O.F.S.
A Prayer of Pope Paul VI For Franciscans
I pray that our saint and gentle brother secure for us from Jesus Christ our Lord
the spirit of gospel poverty, love for his Blessed cross, joy at the presence of God
in the work of His hand, and ever love toward His human sisters and brothers, harmony
among His sons and daughters, who are followers of the saint and peace in the world.
Amen
